Physical Therapy

The Physical Therapy Department at the Â鶹´«Ã½ offers a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. The Doctor in Physical Therapy is the first doctorate degree offered at the Â鶹´«Ã½. The DPT program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.

Clinical Instructor Qualifications:

  • Clinical instructor must be a licensed physical therapist in the state of practice.
  • Must have completed one year of clinical practice.
  • Provide direct supervision and mentoring of the student during patient care.
  • Evaluate students’ performance utilizing the Clinical Internship Evaluation Tool (CIET).
  • Maintain open lines of communication with students and DCE

Benefits of Being a Clinical Instructor for Â鶹´«Ã½ DPT Students:

  • Continuing education credits as specified by state professional organization
    • Example: Georgia- (490-4-.02) Acting as a clinical education instructor for an
      accredited physical therapist or physical therapist assistant educational program;
      Continuing competence credit is one (1) hour per eight (8) contact hours with a
      maximum credit of 10 hours
